Crab Meat Cakes Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound fresh lump crab meat
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 4 tablespoons minced onion
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons minced celery
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon Tiger sauce or hot sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup fresh bread crumbs
  • Tartar Sauce
How to cook Crab Meat Cakes:
  • Remove any shells from the crab meat and set aside.
  • Combine the rest of the ingredients except for 1/4 cup of the bread crumbs. Carefully fold in the crab meat and distribute evenly throughout the mixture. Use a 1/2 cup measuring cup to form the cakes.
  • Dredge the cakes in the remaining bread crumbs before frying. Heat 1/2 teaspoon vegetable oil and 1/2 teaspoon of butter in a large non-stick skillet.
  • Over a medium heat, saute the crab cakes for about 2 minutes on each side or until nicely browned and heated through.
  • Serve with Tartar Sauce, lemon juice and coleslaw.
Tartar Sauce Ingredients:
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped dill pickle
  • 1/4 cup minced onion
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon dill pickle juice
How to cook Tartar Sauce:
  • Mix all Tartar Sauce ingredients together in a bowl.
  • Chill for at least 1 hour before serving.
