Serves/Makes: 4 - 6
Ingredients:
- 1/2 pound cleaned and finely chopped shrimps
- 1 (6-ounce) can crab meat
- 1/4 pound ground pork
- 1/4 cup finely chopped green onion
- Dash of garlic powder
- Salt and freshly ground pepper
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup finely chopped water chestnuts
- 1 package wonton wrapper (sold in Oriental stores)
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- Plum sauce (see the recipe below)
How to cook Filipino Crispy Wontons (Pinsec):
- Combine all ingredients except wonton wrapper and blend very well.
- Wrap about 1/2 teaspoon of filling in each wonton wrapper by folding one side to form a triangle.
- Seal with a few drops of water; set aside.
- Deep fry and drain on paper towel.
- Serve the crispy wontons with plum sauce.
Plum Sauce Ingredients:
- 1 cup plum preserves
- 1/4 cup white vinegar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
How to cook Plum Sauce:
- Combine all ingredients and blend very well.
- Place in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
