Indian Prawns Curry Recipe
Serves/Makes: 3 - 4
Ingredients:
- 1 pound peeled prawns (shrimps)
- 3 tablespoons ghee
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 inch ginger root, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, crushed
- 2 teaspoons ground coriander (cilantro)
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 3 tomatoes, skinned and chopped
- 2 tablespoons wine vinegar
- 2 teaspoons tomato puree (paste)
- Heat the ghee and fry the onion, ginger and garlic until soft and lightly browned.
- Add the spices and fry for 2 minutes, stirring.
- Add the prawns and fry for 5 minutes, stirring.
- Add the tomatoes, wine vinegar and fry until the liquid has evaporated.
- Serve the Indian Prawns Curry hot with steamed rice.
