Mozambique Grilled Shrimps Piri-Piri Recipe
Serves/Makes: 4
Ingredients:
- 1 pound fresh prawns or shrimps, shelled and deveined
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine
Marinade: - 2 tablespoons crushed dried piri-piri chile (or substitute piquins), seeds included
- 1/4 cup peanut oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons lime or lemon juice, fresh preferred
- Melt the butter and add the oil and the remaining marinade ingredients. Simmer for a couple of minutes to blend the flavors.
- Toss the shrimp in the marinade and marinate for a couple of hours.
- Thread the shrimp on skewers and grill over charcoal or broil, basting with the marinade, until done.
- Heat the marinade and serve on the side.
