Russian Trout in Nut Sauce Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds (1 kg) trout fillets
  • 3/4 pound walnuts
  • 4 onions
  • 6 tablespoons olive oil
  • Pepper peas
  • 1 bay leaf
  • Salt and pepper to taste
How to cook Russian Trout in Nut Sauce:
  • Poach trout in a small amount of lightly salted water on low heat for 10-15 minutes.
  • Take the fish out of water.
  • Grind walnuts. Peel onions and slice finely.
  • Fry onions in oil until lightly golden. Combine onion with walnuts, salt to taste and add to the fish broth.
  • Bring the sauce to a boil and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Put fish in the sauce and poach for other 5 minutes.
