Salmon in Cream-Dill Sauce Recipe

Salmon in Cream-Dill Sauce recipe Serves/Makes: 2

Ingredients:

  • 2 salmon (char, trout) fillets, about 6 ounces each
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 bunch dill, finely chopped
  • 7 ounces (200 ml) cream
  • 7 ounces (200 ml) broth (vegetable or chicken)
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 bay leaf
  • Butter or vegetable oil
How to cook Salmon in Cream-Dill Sauce:
  • Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper and leave to rest.
  • Saute the onion in vegetable oil or butter until golden brown.
  • Pour in the cream and the broth.
  • Bring to a boil. Reduce temperature and poach 5-7 minutes.
  • Put the salmon fillets in the sauce, add dill and bay leaf.
  • Simmer at a very low heat for 5 minutes.
  • Try the sauce - if you need add more salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve the Salmon in Cream-Dill Sauce with mashed potatoes.
