Vietnamese Steamed Crabs with Ginger Recipe
Serves/Makes: 4
Ingredients:
- 2 pounds crabs (each halved)
- 1 tablespoon cooking wine
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 1/4 inch ginger, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- Sherry sauce (see below)
- Mix cooking wine, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, salt, and pepper evenly.
- Place crabs on a heatproof plate and pour the wine/soy sauce mixture over.
- Steam till just cooked or about 15 minutes. remove and garnish as liked.
- Prepare sherry sauce.
- Serve the steamed crabs immediately with sherry sauce.
- 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons tomato ketchup
- 1 teaspoon hot chili oil
- 4 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons sherry
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Combine all ingredients and heat in a wok.
